If caught early, prostate cancer is treatable. The recommended screening age is African American men 40 and above, 38 with a family history or unknown history, Hispanic men 40 and above and Caucasian men and others 50 and above: 45 with a family history or unknown history. Most men diagnosed with prostate cancer have no symptoms and when symptoms do show, usually it is in the advanced stages of prostate cancer.  You should have a prostate exam, blood test and DRE or digital rectal exam done each year.
